Hi everyone

Congratulations, Patricia McCarthy from NY was the 100th person to sign our petition: United States Congress: Pass the IRE Irish Immigration Bill.

This is a huge milestone for our campaign! Getting our first 100 signatures is the hardest part of any petition. Now that we’ve got a base of excited supporters, we need to take our petition to the next level – and recruit some promoters too!

Being a petition promoter is easy! All our promoters need to do is post our petition on Facebook, email or IM friends, or ask bloggers to post our widget.

Click on following link which has lots of ideas about how you as a promoter can help out:  http://www.change.org/guides/promote-your-petition

Remember, word of mouth is still the most powerful way to gain support for any online campaign. So, if we can find just one other person to promote our petition as passionately as we do, we’ll double our impact. Just think what we can achieve with more than one promoter.

Since our last email, we have gone from 64 signatures to 145. However, we will need a lot more if we are to be successful in getting Congress to pass the IRE Immigration Bill. Please also forward our email to people you know, asking them to support this bill. We need to get this petition out to as many people as possible including friends, family, organizations, media etc. Everything takes time, but there is urgency behind this bill as it is a temporary measure that will afford Irish nationals both skilled and unskilled, with the much needed opportunity to live and work legally in the United States, and then after a few years return home to a brighter future.

Just click on the link below, and sign up. It’s that easy, and only takes a minute.
